Western sanctions have not affected the cooperation between the aircraft manufacturer Airbus and VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation. A long term contract for the supply of titanium mill products and forgings for USD 4 bln. is valid till 2020. Last year it was supplemented by another agreement.

The Russian titanium producer supports over 60% of the Airbus requirements. VSMPO titanium is used in landing gear, engine pylon and wing components of the French aircraft. According to Julien Franiatte, Managing Director at Airbus Moscow Representative Office, work with VSMPO will continue. “Sanctions didn’t affect our relationship which has been successfully developing for more than 20 years,” he added.

Last July the partners signed another agreement for the supply of forgings and lateral panels for A320neo engine. The first deliveries are scheduled for 2015.
